Our great Jewish way of life is under threat. The government — which while preaching equal opportunities for all ethnic groups seems to have no feeling for our sensibilities and unique way of life — is planning a change in the law which will make it very hard for most Jews to live according to the traditions practised in this country for generations.

At one level, I have no difficulty in understanding and even — up to a point — sympathising with the concern and anguish of British Muslims as events unfold in Iraq.
